We have team reinforcement...

Category: News Created on 12 April 2014

We are glad to share with you the news that in February 2014 our team was joined by a new member – a professional psychiatrist and psychologist. In recent years we have had many cases where we needed to appeal to hospital mental health specialists to help girls in our rehabilitation program. Working with victims of human trafficking and violence, we have seen how their deep trauma has caused mental disorders. Also we noticed an alarming tendency towards a growing number of young people with deep psychological problems and mental disorders.

Previously, there was only BOL’s psychologist Yulia Ubeyvolk to cope with the increased number of people who were asking for help. Understanding the need, BOL decided to invite Serghei Golovatiy to join our team. He is a highly experienced professional, as well as a good Christian. In our small country we have very few experts of this kind who can not only discern the deeper roots and causes of psychological problems, but also find a healthy balance between proper treatment and recovery from trauma. Serghei also has wide experience in helping not just the victims, but also their family members. This experience means he is ideally placed to help our rehabilitees to overcome the trauma, as well as the wider families of vulnerable children and teenagers supported by BOL.
