Within this two-part manual – one section dealing with the theoretical aspect of human trafficking, and the other offering practical advice - we are considering new trends, including the transporting of victims, and their exploitation. This manual is innovative in that it is the study of phenomena related to human trafficking and those elements often confused with this trade. Whilst terminology like ‘prostitution’ and ‘pornography’ have been studied previously in the context of traffic, we have not addressed until now such terms as ‘Work and Travel’ and ‘Au Pair’ in their relation to human trafficking.
Special consideration is given to the practical recommendations that apply to those who emigrated from Moldova, as well as those who decided to remain, with a specific focus on those who are languishing in a state of uncertainty in their native country. For those who are already caught up in this criminal activity, advice can be found in manuals issued previously.
Our goal is to encourage more people to respect themselves as men and women created in the image and likeness of God, and not to behave as both the producer and consumer of material goods, and to understand that the solution to this problem is possible only by using a holistic approach.
